This past weekend I stayed at Westgate Resort & Spa! This was done because we stayed with my sister's finance's family, to have family bonding time. It was such a fun weekend because I had many things to do, and everyday I had something new to do everyday. I got there Friday, stayed Saturday, went to Aquactica on Sunday, and stayed half of the day on Monday and came back home.

First on Friday, I did not go to school because we left around 11p.m. and i had to pack and get everything in the car and everything together before we left for Orlando, because that was where the resort was located. So, I packed my bags and got the snack bags, cooler, and my bag together while my mom was packing up the car. Then, after we had gotten packed and everything was in the car, we left for Anthony's house, my sister's finance, and we just waited around for everyone else to get ready so that way we can follow each other down because my family did not know where the resort was. Then when we got to the resort, we unpacked and got settled into the room and went straight down to the pool. Then we stayed up till 1 playing games.

On Saturday, I woke up at 7 because i had not wanted to sleep my whole day away because when I stay somewhere on vacation I do not like sleeping in because then it would just waste the morning away. When i had woken up i put on my bathing suit and went over to Anthony's family's room because they had made breakfast. They made bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, and cinnamon buns. They also had apple juice, and orange juice. The breakfast was really good, then we went down to the lake to rent a paddle boat. I got onto the boat with my brother and we started paddling down the lake and he had tipped me over and I had not been wearing my life vest. Then for lunch we made hamburgers and hot dogs, then we went down to the pool and had a fun time. Then for dinner we had made ribs and pasta. Then in the rooms we had a jacuzzi in our room and after we had dinner we all got in it and over flowed it with bubbles. Then we had all gone to bed early because we had to wake up at 6 to go to Aqucatica the next morning.

Then on Sunday, i had woken up at 6 because we all had to get up because we were going to Aqucatica, which was 15 minutes away from our hotel. But we had to wake up so early because if you buy your tickets online you can get into the park an hour early. So we had gotten there at 7. We went on every ride and we got a food pass so we can eat all the time whenever we want. One of the rides, Omaka Rocka, i had fallen out of the tub and came down the slide without it. It was so much fun and we did not leave the park until 5 p.m. we had all been so burnt. By the time we got back to the hotel, we all passed out for an hour or so then went down to the pool.

On Monday, i had woken up at 8 because we got a late check out for the last day, at 3. I had been so exhausted from the day before from Aqucatica so i had slept in a little bit until my alarm had gone off. Then when I woke up I had gone to the pool until about 2. Then I got up to the room to pack up the food, drinks, and our clothes. Then we headed out for the day to come back home. The weekend had been so much fun, and the Westgate Resort & Spa is a really nice place, i would love to go again.

Over the past year, many things have changed that have changed me for the better. Things have changed in my life that have not only helped me learn about things, but also changed my life. These things include, going into the EMS Academy, joining Athletic Training, and becoming friends with Alyssa Jones. All of these things have changed me for the better, and made me who I am today. I wouldn’t be anywhere with where I am now if it was not for these three things. I appreciate all of these things and know that I will still have them in the long run.

When I first started off high school, I was not sure what track I would like to go on, but my brother and sister had told me about the EMS academy, and right when they had explained to me what it was about, I knew that was exactly what I wanted to do. Joining the EMS Academy was probably the best thing I could have ever done because it made it clear to me that this is exactly what I want to do in life and there is not anything else that I would rather do in life. While being in the EMS Academy, I’ve realized a lot of things that has helped me out with deciding what I want to do in life. While being in the academy, I have realized that I want to be an EMT and drive the EVAC, then to go get me degree for becoming a Pediatrician. If I had not joined the academy, I would have realized what I truly want to do in life or be who I am today.

While being in the EMS Academy, I also learned about Athletic Training. I joined training because I had thought it would help me out with my medical track in life. Athletic Training is an after school community service ordeal. You can tape people who are hurt, give them ice, learn about injuries and even get to see an injury go down and see the whole treatment and how you do it. I love training because it has not only helped me meet many new people who will be my friends for many years, but it has also helped me get even more encouraged about going into the medical field and pursuing my life as an EMT or Pediatrician. Training has helped me become what I want to be, and it also has helped me get the most community service hours in the freshmen/sophomore class. It has really helped me, and will still help me while pursuing me career.

Well, where do I start? Alyssa Jones is my best friend, and I have no idea where I would be without her. She has made me the person I am today. She always pushes me to do my best and even helps me out with a mega crisis, and she never lets me down while helping me. Alyssa has helped me through school, whether it be tutoring me, or just even pushing me to do my best. She has been there for me this whole year, and without her I probably would not be who I am today. She has taught me so many things and she is my best friend in the whole world and I do not know what I would do without her support, love or even motivation. Alyssa Jones is my absolute best friend and she will always be there for me no matter what.

In conclusion, you can tell that these three things have really changed my life over the past year. Without these I do not think I would know what I want to do in life, or even be the person I am today. While this past year has almost come to an end, I am grateful for the things that I not only have accomplished, but also just even open my eyes into what my life holds for me ahead. I don’t think I could have made it through my first year of high school without these three amazing things that have happened to me, and I know I would not be who I am today.

This upcoming week I have quite a bit of things to do that I need to successfully finish. First, today Monday, I have to go to tutoring for math during my lunch hour. Then, after school I have to go to football practice till about 6 or 7 then I have to go home and do plenty of homework. I have to finish my DNA test corrections for Mrs. King’s class and then I have to start on Mrs. Schaffer’s 3 book reports. I also have to do more for my book work for Mr. Alves because it is due Tuesday. Then I have to do some math homework and some extra credit for my D in Spanish. Then I’m going to go to bed and start over my whole Tuesday. On Tuesday once again I have to go to tutoring for math because i have a 55% in that class. I also have to do more on Mrs. Schaffer’s 3 book report projects. Then off to football practice once again.

On Wednesday, I have to do the same thing over again but I will be going to Spanish class for lunch instead of going to my math class because I need to average out both of the classes and put in about the same amount of time into each class. I will go to Spanish class and make up a vocabulary test and a grammar test. These test I failed and I need to re-take. Then I have to go to football practice and stand out there until about 7 and then I will go home and do more homework and more of my project. Then Thursday I will be going to math tutoring after school for a little bit and then go to football practice, and on Friday I will go to math tutoring during my lunch hour. This way I put fourth quite a bit of my time for math so I can try and successfully pass it. Then Friday night Alyssa, Vika, Taylor Klein, Jazmin, and I will be going over to Rachael's to spend the night.

While we are over Rachael’s will be pigging out on food that her dad will be making us, he is making hot wings with blue cheese, nachos, pizza, and strawberry cheesecake. Then we will most likely go swimming in her pool then watch a couple of movies. Then on Saturday we will hang out all day then I will be leaving at around 2p.m. to go home and do more on my book reports. This way I will be able to finish my projects with a reasonable amount of time that it is due on June 4th. Then on Sunday I will be getting a pedicure with my sister and then I will go back to school on Monday and start over the same week again. Then on Memorial weekend I will be staying at Westgate Lake Resort and Spa with my family and my sister's finance's family that way we can get family bonding time. We will be staying there Friday; I won’t be coming to school on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. But we will be leaving on Monday night. On Saturday we will be going to Aquatica. All my weekend and weeks for the next two weeks will be completely full and I will have like no time to relax.

04/20/10

This weekend had a lot of fun times and i did plenty of things to keep me occupied. First, at school on Friday, i had gone to the training room after school and helped Doc out with wrapping people's ankles and wrists and giving them treatment while i was waiting for my ride. Then Alyssa and I decided that it would be fun to go to the movies, so i had gone home to get ready for the movies. But Alyssa told me to invite Jordan, he's a sophomore, and we have been talking for quite some time now, so i invited him to the movies with Alyssa and i to watch "The Last Song." But i had to wait for him to answer me back to tell me if he could go or not because he was having company over. So while i was waiting for him to tell me if he could go or not, i was straightening my hair and doing my make up. So after i was done with that, he texted me telling me that he couldn't go because his company was already over. So it was girls night and we were going to make the best of it.

So when we got to the movies, we went to the ticket booth to pay for "The Last Song", it would be Alyssa's second time to see it already. Then we got into the theater and enjoyed the movie. It is definitely not what people except, everyone thinks that it is a chick flick, and although it is, it has a little twist to it where you may even shed a couple tears. It was really a good movie and then while we were waiting for Alyssa's mom to come pick us up, we decided to waste a little bit of time, we went into K Mart. It was a lot of fun going into K Mart at 9:30 at night. We started throwing footballs around and started dancing with the singing fish! "Give me that fillet fish, give me that fish", it was so funny and we started singing along. Then her mom called and we left and they took me home.

On Saturday, i did basically nothing. I had to do homework for my academy classes so i got started on that and then i watched the new "16 and pregnant" and that was a really good show. Then i texted basically the rest of the day with Jordan, we talked about everything and how we've been friends since the 7Th grade and that its time to start "talking." So my Saturday was not half bad and it actually got better as the night went on. My dad took me out to get some food. We got the yummy Chinese food. Then after eating, i decided to hit the hay.

On Sunday, that was the best out day of my whole weekend. I first got up and just laid around. Then around dinner time, my family came in from Massachusetts and we had a family dinner. It is so fun to talk to them because they have their accents and its really funny to listen to them talk. Then after we were done eating we played the wii for a little bit and then we went to go stay with my other Aunt. Then at around 8, i watched the CMA Awards and it was really good, I'm glad Carrie Underwood one best artist of the year. Then i went to bed. Then i woke up on Monday to come to school and did my work and now its Tuesday and I'm doing my blog.

The article "Martina Navratilova Has Breast Cancer" is about a famous tennis player who has just found out that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The tennis player is a legend and the breast cancer was found early prognosis has said to be excellent. Navratilova had the biopsy in February and it came as a big shock to her, that someone like herself can get breast cancer. The mammogram came back positive for a cluster in her left breast. She was diagnosed with a noninvasive form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma. In Martina's Navratilova's case, was confined to the milk ducts and had not spread to the breast tissue. Navratilova had a lumpectomy and will begin six weeks of radiation therapy in May. Although, she still has breast cancer and doesn't get regular check ups, she still plays tennis and ice hockey.

I chose this article in particular because it really hits home with me. My Aunt has breast cancer and my grandfather also had lung cancer. Cancer is a very scary thing to go through, and it is always better to go through it with someone that you know can be there. The article really brought back some memories and that's why i chose the article. My Aunt is still fighting for her life through radiation therapy and unfortunately my grandfather did not make it through it. So this article about Martina Navratilova really shows that anyone can go through it, and although its tough, you can still do things that make you happy. So, this article really brings back memories, so that's why i chose it.

I believe this article will be interesting to others because not only is it something that everyone should be aware about but also to show that you can get through something like this. Martina Navratilova is a famous tennis player and although she got diagnosed with breast cancer, she still lives her dream of playing tennis and ice hockey. When you go through something as tough as this, its always best to have something in your comfort zone and that's why Navratilova still played tennis.

What others should learn or know after reading this article is that breast cancer is very scary thing to go through, even people like Martina Navratilova go through it. People need to be aware of breast cancer and know about it so that way the world is more educated about it so that way everyone is able to be each others back bone. It is very important for people to know about cancer, it is just something that the world should be aware of and know the slightest thing about.

Over Spring Break, i did many things that i enjoy doing. First off, Friday night Alyssa and I went over to Stephanie's and watched the Twilight series. But only Twilight and New Moon are out so we had a movie night with junk food. We ate salt n vinegar chips, cookies and chex mix. We stayed over Stephanie's house until midnight and then i went home. On Saturday my sister and I went on over to Carla's house, a person that my sister works with. We had gone horseback riding on one of her horses for about 2 hours.n We learned how to get them to obey commands and fun stuff like that. On Sunday, my mom and sister had to work, so my dad and I had gone out to Wal Mart and went grocery shopping because my cousin was coming Monday. Then we went out to lunch. We had gone out to Texas Roadhouse, which is a fairly new restaurant and we loved it. I got chicken fingers with a Cesar salad. It was really good, then we had gone home and i watched the Full House series all day.

On Monday, my cousin was coming down from my hometown, Miami. I couldn't wait for her to get to my house because we had so many things planned to do together. But as usual, she was running late so i had to wait until she got to my House. she left her house at around 3pm and got to my house at like 7pm. When she finally got to my house, it was already too late to go something, so we had to wait until the next day.

On Tuesday, my Aunt, cousin, me, my mom and my sister had gone out to lunch to meet my sisters fiance for lunch because he was on his lunch break. So we had gone to Chik Fil A. We had a lot of fun and then we went to go shop. We had gone to Bealls. We were in Bealls at 2pm till 5pm. We spent a lot of time at Bealls. I had gotten myself a Guy Harvey shirt. I got a hot pink one and it was a girls fit instead of getting the men's. Then we had gone back home and spent the rest of the setting myself up with a Face book.

On Wednesday, we finally made it to the beach! Of course, we didn't leave until 1:30pm because my aunt is so slow moving and can never get on the roll. So we made it to the beach at around 2:15 pm and spent the day just laying out in the sun and relaxing because we all needed it. Then we started to get hungry, so we went to Breakers. It is a seafood place right on the beach and i got fried clams. It is so yummy! Then at about 6pm we decided that we got enough sun and that it was time to leave.

On Thursday, we had gone out to meet our aunts and uncles at their beach house and go out on the boat and fish. Of course, i didn't catch anything but we still had a lot of fun. Then we decided that it would be fun to go kayaking. So we went on the 2 person kayak and it was really scary because we on his lake with gators and what not. Then my uncle Jason caught an eel and then i decided that was enough kayaking for me. Then we all went out to eat at PJ's, which is also a seafood place but i got a buffalo chicken wrap. Everyone else got seafood, but it was so good.

On Friday, we meet my sisters fiance's family at the beach. It was so much fun because he has little brothers and sisters and it was a lot of fun to play with them in the water. Their names are Bri, Tommy and Lizzie. They are so adorable and so funny. We had gone into the beach water and played volleyball, which was so much fun. Then we got hungry, so i made myself a turkey sandwich with some cheez its. Then they had to leave because the little kids cant get too much sun, they we left like 3 hours after they had.

On Saturday, it was time for my cousin to leave because Spring Break was almost over. We had once again meet my sisters fiance at Chilli's for lunch. I had gotten a chicken Cesar salad. Then we had to go back home because they needed to go back home because they needed to pack and get on the road. Then after they left Sunday came along. It was Easter! We all colored eggs and had a big dinner with all of our family over. It was a really good day.

Now, its Monday and we back at school sitting here writing this blog. I wish it was still Spring Break but its not and we have school. I had myself a great Spring Break and now its over. Now i have to do the virtual business paper.

03/15/10

This weekend was such a successful weekend for me. I did a lot of things that made me feel very accomplished but i had to throw in a little fun in there because after awhile, i got really bored. First, on Friday, i left after school ended and i took Alyssa home, then i drove home and watched some "Full House." Later on that night i got a call from Alyssa, saying she wants me to go to the movies with her, Cole and Dujon. Alyssa picked me up from my house and she drove, that was not a good sight, and then we were on our way to the movie theater in Orange City. When we got there, Cole and Dujon were already waiting for us in front of the ticket booth. We really hadn't decided on what movie we wanted to see, but we paid for "Alice In Wonderland", but we snuck into "Cop Out."

We wanted to see "Cop Out", but it was a Rated R movie, and since we didn't have an adult present with us, we couldn't get into the theater, so that's why we bought "Alice In Wonderland" and then when "Cop Out" was about to start, we just left to go see that one. The whole movie was hilarious, it was about these cops who lost something really valuable, and in order to get it back, they had to go through these obstacles. It was really funny, and entertaining. Then after the movie had ended, we had sat outside the theater until our rides had come to pick us up. Once Alyssa's mom had come around the corner to pick us up, we had left. Then after a short while, so did Cole and Dujon.

On Saturday, well that was a very successful day for me, because the following Saturday is my birthday and I'm turning 15. I really want my permit, so in order for me to get my permit, i have to take a test, but before i can take that test, i have to take a "Drug And Alcohol" test. The test is 4 hours long, and it felt like way more than that. I sat in my room the whole day with my mom taking it. You have to read so many passages and take little quizzes before you can take that actual test. You can't move forward either until the time is up. The time for each paragraph was about 25 to 30 minutes long. They make it timed so that way you have to read it and you actually learn it. After starting it at 2 i finished at 8:30. That was way longer than 4 hours and i was completely exhausted. So i decided to go to bed.

On Sunday, i was not aloud to go anywhere until i finished my OR Projects for Mrs. Schaffer. She has us do 3 book reports every 9 weeks, so that way we can broaden minds and vocabulary. It is really hard because we get to chose from a sheet of paper what kind we want to do, but you have to do a different one each time. All of them include a lot of writing, i did the Poem with 1 page summary, 2 page character development, and the 6 diary entries. I did the books, "The Notebook", "My Sister's Keeper", and "The Lovely Bones". Those are all really good books, that i recommend to anyone.

As you can see, my weekend was very successful, i got plenty of things done and although it took a lot of work, i am very relieved, and I'm happy that i got it done. This weekend, i went to the movies, took my "Drug And Alcohol" test and even finished Mrs. Schaffers OR Projects.

In the article, "Your SAT Scores May Haunt You", it talks about how Donna Chan, a 23 year old has been out of college since May 2002. She hadn't scored very high on her SAT's, but while being in college, her grade point average turned out to be a 3.9 which is very high for a college student. On her SAT's, she scored around the 1200's. She has not found a job out there yet, because of her SAT's, which is not fair because of the fact of her 3.9 GPA. It also talks about how some companies only hire people with score of 1400 on the SAT's. It talks about how the company "Configure soft, Inc", a systems-management software company is very unfair with their hiring. One company owner, Morgan Denny, does look at the SAT scores, but she says that "The SAT is an annoyance for us and an annoyance for our candidates; we believe there should be a balance." While this is very true, the SAT's are still very important.

These SAT tests are very important. They not only help you out if you are unable to pass the FCAT, but also if you want a decent paying job, sometimes it is necessary to do good. These tests make a critical impact on what your future holds for you. When taking these tests, many should remember that this is not only a test, but this test is your fate in a future job. While, wanting the job you"ve always wanted, you have to keep in mind that they may not hire you because of the SAT score, and so you want to score very high on the test. I believe that not letting students into certain colleges and jobs just because of a SAT score is very unfair. Yes, the SAT is a very important test that you want to do good on, but just because some may not be as well test takers as others, and people such as Donna Chan, have a very high GPA, the SAT should not stand in the way. For example, Donna Chan did poorly on her SAT but yet her GPA all throughout college was a 3.9, which happens to be very excellent. This is an unfair advantage to some.

Colleges take these into such consideration i believe, is because that they want their college to look the best. Allowing someone into the school with a low SAT score, may look bad on the schools record. Colleges want to look the best and want the best. Also, they do not want someone that would just fool around because if they do not have a high score, they may not be serious. Colleges also look at the students GPA averages. They make look at behavioral issues and grades all throughout schooling.

In my opinion, i believe that not allowing someone into a college or job just because of a low score on a test, is very unfair, so i do not think that not letting a student or adult in is not unfair. In my opinion this whole SAT ordeal is not an advantage to people, but an unadvantage. In conclusion, in this article, many talk about how they have high grades just not so well on the SAT.

03/01/10

This weekend had been a very interesting one. I did plenty of things to keep myself occupied. To start off with, on Friday i had to work a game. I'm an athelic trainer, which means that when a game is occuring, i have to attend it, in order if someone may to get hurt. After school we have to go the training room to set up the game that we have to attend. We, the trainers, have to make ice bags, make sure the kit is stocked and bring water bottles and towels. We have to prepare ourselves for any possible thing that could happen at a game. If someone were to get hurt, we would have to know exactly what to do in whatever postion that we were put in. So, i had a track meet Friday after school. So when i got out of 7th period i had to head straight to the training room, where i made ice bags, stocked the kit, and brought a towel. Since it was a track meet, i didn't have to bring a towel.

When i had gotten to the game, it was four and i knew that track meets can last up to five hours, so i had already knew that i was going to be there for awhile. I had to work the game with Stephanie, who is a rookie so i had to teach her the things that we have to do along the way. As it started to hit seven, i started to become really tired, so i told Stephanie that i was going to leave because i had been told that it was not going to end until some time around ten. So i had gotten home, got subway and went straight to bed. I had already been sick so the weather was not helping my cold that i had since Thursday.

On Saturday, my cold had gotten a lot worse. I woke up at ten feeling like i couldn't move so from ten till nine at night, i layed on my couch all day. I watched Full House for the couple hours that it had been on for, then after that ended, i went on myspace for a little bit just to keep myself occupied, since i was running a 99.6 fever. I really didn't feel good but my sister wanted to get me out of the House so that i may feel a little bit better, but i told her no because i just wasn't up for it. I was really sick and i just couldn't get motivated to get up off the couch.

After Saturday came and left, Sunday had begun. Sunday, i was feeling better but not completely. So at ten, i decided to finally get out of bed and start my day. My sister had told me that she wanted to get me out of the house, once again. Since i was feeling better, and my weekend had basically came and gone, i decided that i might as well go out for a little bit. After a few hours being out of the house, i started feeling better and better. At noon, my sister had taken me to Olive Garden, my favorite place! I was really happy that she had done that for me, and i was feeling better so i was starting to become really hungry. After we had eaten, my sister, wanted to go to the movies, so we headed to the theater and the movie we had wanted to see, "Dear John" was not playing until 6:45. So we decided to go to the Kohl's plaza where we just looked around for the time being. But since the movie didn't start till 6:45, we just went home. Then after being home i got on the computer and started talking to Levi.

I was on the computer for awhile talking to Levi. We were talking about how he wants to be on the varsity baseball team. And i was encouraging him to try out for varsity. Then we were talking about how many of our friends, such as Alyssa and Ashley, will be going to University High next year. Then he had told me that he too will possibly be going there also. Then he said that he was going for pizza and would be back or brb like he had said and he never signed back on. So today, Monday, we are still fighting about how he didn't sign back on. Now I'm just doing Alves lame Monday blogs.

As the week was going on, i was looking forward to my upcoming weekend. I knew i had a lot of things to do in such little time. My weekend was so busy! I had more than enough things to do, and i really wanted to catch up on sleep. But i knew that was not going to be the case. First, Friday night was thought to be a good night, but unfortunately it was not. I made this shirt for a kid named Kendal. We have been talking and so i decided i wanted to stand out in his eyes so i made the shirt Thursday. Friday was battle of the Boulevards, (Deltona) and i went to the away game. When i got there they had already been warming up.

So i waited till after the game to talk to him, but instead of him coming up to me, he completely ignored me and i didn't know why. Levi had told me that hes been playing me and he had been with a girl the night i was making the shirt. I was really fed up so i took off the shirt, i had an undershirt on, and threw it in his face and said "Sorry, I guess you were a mistake." Now i am the topic of the Baseball field because they knew he was playing me and they thought it was brave of me to do that in front of the players.

So on Saturday, I really didn't feel like going to the Sports Medicine Workshop, (Student Athletic Training) because i was still really fed up with the whole thing that had gone down on Friday. I had to wake up at 7 in the morning in order to get to the workshop in time for it to start. I had to direct the schools on where things were, we played games and shirts that Alyssa, Melissa, Jazmin are wearing today, (Monday). It ended at 4 and by that time we were all exhausted, so we canceled our plans to go out to dinner and we just slept when we got back to our houses.

On Sunday, the academy went bowling and it started at 12, so once again i could not sleep in. I had to wake up at 10:30 because it takes me very long to get ready. So we got to the bowling alley and we got bumpers because when i bowl i usually don't get higher than a 20. But since we had bumpers, i broke 100. My score was 101, and i was very proud. We had a lot of fun and now the bowling coach wants to recruit Alyssa and I. Then after we had played 3 games, Alyssa and I went back to my house. We decided that it would be fun to go to Taylor's to go horse back riding.

So when we got to Taylor's, she was teaching us how to ride correctly or else we would fall off. Alyssa went first and she fell off really hard, twice! It was really funny, but by then i was really scared to ride, after watching her fall off. But once i got i on i got the hang of it, and it was a lot of fun. So after we were done riding, Alyssa and I went back to my house for dinner. Her mom came and picked her up after we were done eating. When she left, i did my homework, took a shower and went on myspace for a little bit. Then i went to bed and before i knew, it was time for me to get up for school. Now here i am in Mr. Alves class writing his Monday blogs!

The article "2010 Winter Olympic Bids" is about the new Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. It talks about the past Olympians and who was involved. In December 3, 1998 the first round of voting for who goes in the Olympics had started. Vancouver won the bidding process to host the Olympics by a vote on the International Olympic Committee on July 2, 2003 at the 115th IOC Session held in Prague, Czech Republic. The Olympics in an international, world wide event that many people attend to, to become known as a somebody. They compete in the event that they would like to, such as figure skating, skiing, luge, ice hockey and speed skating. They compete for a gold metal, and one person get a gold, the second place gets silver and third gets bronze. People from all countries compete to win. I chose this article in particular because i love to watch the Winter Olympics. It is very interesting to watch how different countries and see if the U.S.A could win a gold. The Olympics only come every four years, so after four years we get to see the Winter sports compete. Its just a lot of fun to see who gets to win and see how good people really are. It would be interesting to others because everyone loves to watch the Olympics. Many people tune in to the channel 4 on Bright House, to see the Olympics. It has many viewings and people always love to see if U.S.A can win a gold, in either speed skating, skiing, figure skating, etc. Others should learn that the Olympics is not always fun and games. Many of the players in the events work for four years to finally get where they need to be, but when it comes down to it at the event, they get hurt, lose or even die. They do not always have fun and they usually get injured. This is important for people to know because many people do not understand how much they could potentially get hurt.

My everyday schedule is very hectic. I have many things that go on in my life that it is very hard to keep up with anything anymore. I will start off with my everyday morning. When i wake up in the morning at 6:05, my alarm is blaring and my song is "Cowboy Casanova." Then i finally roll out of bed and immediately turn on my "Chi", a hair straightener. Then i put in my contacts and brush my hair then head to the bathroom to do my hair. My usual time it takes for me to straighten my hair is around 15 minutes. Then when I'm done with my hair, i head to the kitchen and make my lunch. Which has been the same since the beginning of the year, a turkey sandwich. Then i eat a banana everyday for breakfast too.

Then i go to the living room and watch "Full House," i watch that every single morning because it wakes me up in the morning. Then when i am done with eating and watching my favorite show of all time, i go into my room and pick out what i would like to wear. That usually takes me around 10 minutes because i try on one thing then i don't like how i look in it, so i have to try on like 20 other different things. Then, when i am done figuring out what i think looks good, i put on my make up. Putting on my make up takes around 5 to 10 minutes on an average day. Then i go to wake up my mom to take me to school, then i put on my perfume and deodorant. I get my turkey sandwich out of the fridge. Then its off to school!

When i get to school, the late bell rings and then i show up Mrs. Kings class. When i get to Mrs. Kings class i put my lunch in her fridge which is in her back room. Then class starts, from there on out i have to work real hard to keep my grades up. Mrs. Kings class is fairly easy, but then its off to Mrs. Schaffer and her class is a killer! We do more than necessary i there, then Mr. Alves here we come! I love Alves class, he is so funny and always makes the work fun. Although we found out he is liar we still love him. Then Spanish, ugh I'm never ready for that class. It is so annoying in there, she always says that we are going to have an easy day but it never works out that way. Then lunch, yummy! Turkey sandwich here i come! Then algebra, that class would have to be the hardest class, i suck at math so it is extremely hard in there for me. Then Ms. Brewer and i love her class! We are like homies, and i love being able to just get all my energy out during P.E. Then its intensive reading. Ugh, unfortunately i have to be in that class. Then off to the training room!

I love this part of my day! The training room is so much fun because i get to see all of my friends, and i get learn more and more everyday about medical stuff. I usually have to work almost every other day, and although it is a lot of fun, it is very tiring. When i work, i don't get home until 9:30 or 10. But i still love it. Then when the game is over, or i don't have to work, i call one of my family members who is off work to come get me. Then i go home, eat and do homework, so that way i have the rest of the night to relax or watch TV. Then i go to bed and my whole schedule starts all over again. That is the exciting life of Caitlin!

The article "Rumble in the Skatepark", is about how the new brand of shoes is taking over the businesses for skateboards. Its called Savier, and many interviewed skateboards has said that they feel great on their feet and they are very high-tech because of its soles. It talks about how Nike and Vans was one of the very first businesses that skateboards has gone to, they like the shoes because they are comfortable and they are great to skate in. On the other hand, Savier, the new business is coming in with a great deal of skateboards going to them, making Vans their newest rival. This article is interesting to me because although i do not know how to skateboard, i like to watch it. It is a very original sport that not many people are able to master. Its interesting to know that businesses are loyal to their buyers and vise versa with the buyers. The skateboarders like to skate in comfortable affordable shoes, and thats where these interesting businesses come in at. Nike wouldnt just stick to a bigger sport because Nike is known for the business of skateboarders. Everyone knows that Nike is a company that the skateboarders stick to because they are comfortable and affordable. I believe it is a good strategy by Nike because if they are already known for their company why change it? They receive more money than any other company because people love to know that skateboarders get their shoes from there. In conclusion, although Nike has a new rival, Savier, they still could probably keep the business going because people love the fact that they are very well known in the business. Nike, Vans and Savier are companies that skateboarders shop at for comfortable shoes and knowing that they are affordable.

Skateboarding was first started in the 1950s, when all across California sufers got the idea of surfing on the streets. In 1963, skateboarding was at a peak of popularity and companies like Jack's, Hobie, and Makaha started holding skateboarding competitions. Torger Johnson, Woody Woodward, and Danny Berer were some of the well known skateboarders at this time. In 1965, skate boardings popularity suddenly crashed. Most people assumed that skateboarding was a fad that has died out. Skateboard companies had folded, and people who wanted to skate had to make their own skateboards from scratch again. In 1972, Frank Nasworthy invented urethane skateboard wheels, which are similar to what most skateboarders use today. His company was called the Cadillac wheels. In 1975, skateboarding took an evolutionary boost toward the sport we see today. In Del Mar, California a slalom and freestyle contest was held at the Ocean Festival. That day, the Zephyr team showed the world what skateboarding could be. Although, skateboarding has many things to it, you have to have comfortable shoes to be able to actually compete. In the 1990s, Nike tried multimillion-dollar ad campaigns, opened up an office in Orange County, Calif. and teamed up with the surf-skate clothing label Counter Culture for brainstorming sessions. But the Orange County office closed within three months, after Nike's line of skate shoes and clothes failed to attract much attention at trade shows. The business has grown much since back in the 1900s. Now a days, we actually have many people into skateboarding and many people shop at these places unlike back then when people were not really into it. Many people buy shoes and clothing at Nike and Vans, to show off that they are a skateboarder, and that is considered cool, and back then it was not. Many businesses such as Nike are a multimillion-dollar business, and back then they could barely get customers.

The article "Saints seal trip to super bowl after Favre throws late interception", is about the game last night. The deciding decision of the Vikings or Saints going to the super bowl was officially declared last night. The game went on over time to decide which team would get the winning touchdown. Favre through an interception and the Saints got a hold of the football to get the touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings. When the game had went into over time the referee flipped a coin and the Saints got the football first. Now that the Saints had won the deciding game of going to the super bowl, the Colts are going against the Saints, in the super bowl.

I chose this particular article because i know a lot about it, I had watched the game last night, and i love football. This game was so interesting to me, because i wanted to see who was going to go against the Colts in the super bowl, and although i had wanted the Cowboys to make it the super bowl, still want to watch the super bowl, and i did this article because i wanted to do a blog on something that i know a lot about.

I believe this article would be interesting to others because it is something really big that only goes on once a year. Everyone loves to watch the super bowl, so an article about the super bowl would be interesting to those specific individuals. The certain people who are into the whole super bowl, would be interested in this article.

What others should know or learn after this article is that The Saints are going against The Colts in the super bowl. That the two teams who are going to the super bowl to play against one another, there will be a winner in the National Super Bowl. It is important to know that because if nobody knows who will be going to super bowl, then who will know what is going on? The two teams in the super bowl is The Colts and The Saints. The article is about the recap from the last night game and how Brett Favre threw away the game.

"I love having memories to hold onto and be able to remember the things i had done before." I have so many memories that i love to be able to talk about or write about with people so that they can know what i love to do, or what i have done. Everyone has a favorite memory but in my case i actually have 3. Three of my favorite memories are the ones that i remember the most, and i love reminisce with them. Walt Disney World, Miami, and My 14th Birthday. These memories I am very fond of. Memories last a lifetime and these memories will stick with me forever.

Carriage rides, Disney characters and rides! This happens to be my favorite memory because its one that i can visit all the time. Its Walt Disney World. Disney World is a very magical place. I love to go and visit all of the characters and be able to have a picture with them, I'm secretly still a kid at heart. The carriage rides are a blast because they give you a chance to tour the theme park, on the ground! I'm terrified of heights, so this little tour of the park is a great thing for me personally, instead of the monorail. And don't even get me started on the rides! Although, i am terrified of rides and heights, but i still like certain rides. Rides such as Splash Mountain, and Space Mountain, those rides are my absolute favorite and i love Disney just because of the fact that it has many things to do, and because i always leave with one great memory.

Don't forget the palm trees. Miami is my hometown and i love to visit it and be able to visit my family that still lives there, ones that i had to leave behind. Miami is a great place, and many people have stereotypes about it, but me, i know the truth and how great it really is. Miami was the best place to live, but then i had to move so that my parents could take care of my dying grandmother. In Miami, i left some great memories behind. I always used to love going to the Miami Central beach and tan out with my cousin, Katie. We would always make a beach day, a fun one. We would go out for ice cream down at the Cold stones, right up the road from "our beach." We would always have a blast coming home from the beach, wrapped in our towels, with the windows down and the music blaring. Although, i had to move away, i still have those memories, and i visit her and my other relatives every time i get a chance to.

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Caitlin, Happy Birthday to you." My 14th birthday is a birthday that i will never forget. it was one of the most down right horrible birthdays ever, at first. I had to go to school that day, a Friday, March 20th. I was so looking forward to coming home, getting all dressed up and going to Kobe's, my most favorite restaurant ever. But then when i had gotten home, i got horrible news, we couldn't go. My mommy was terribly sick and my brother had broken the front window. From then on out, i could tell this was not going to end well for me. We had to stay home, and i was upset but i completely understood. My daddy had to fix the window, and meanwhile my mommy was throwing up. We wound up ordering pizza from Scorpios and that was my big birthday dinner, although i could tell it was to end well, it actually did. We had made a fun day out of it, and to this day, we still reminisce and laugh about it.

Memories are a very fond thing that people can hold onto, its that one thing that people can always visit, as many times as they please. Memories are one thing that i love to visit when I'm sad, that can cheer me up when I'm just having one of those days. I have more than 3 memories. but these 3 that i have chosen to write about, are ones that i still love to laugh about, and reminisce about. Walt Disney World, Miami, and My 14th Birthday. These are the memories that i not only visit myself, but i always still to this day, talk about it with my other loved ones. Memories are the one thing that i can always go back on.

This past week has been really hard. Every class period has been giving us a mid term and it is very difficult. Monday was 1st and 2nd mid term, Tuesday was 3rd and 4th and, today, Wednesday is 5th period, Thursday is 6th and 7th. These stupid mid terms has been stressing me out because every teacher thinks that they are the only teacher in the school who is giving these gay, pointless mid terms. Every teacher says that their exam is easy and that we should find time to study for their exam but first of all, people do have lives and these stupid mid terms are ruining it! I have to deal with athletic training to, which causes me to have to stay after school for long periods of time giving community service and i have absolutely no time to sit down and study these lame review sheets that supposedly are going to help us out on the mid term. And that was a complete lie because, they did not. Most of my teachers mid terms, the crap that was on there, had nothing to do with what was on the long mid term. These mid terms are really stressing me out. Its really pissing me off too because these teachers really think that the world revolves around their teaching and honestly it does not. These mid terms are gay and pointless, what is the point in them? All they do is stress out the students and make their grade go down. Then that makes the students stress even more because then they have to worry about trying to bring it back up to the location of where they want it. Mrs. Kings mid term was probably one of the hardest tests i have ever taken in my life. All the questions that were on the test were not on the 59 question review sheet that she had given us to study. Then Mrs. Schaffer did not have a mid term because presenting our projects was our mid term. And she makes us do a lot and always says that it is not a lot but she knows that is, she just likes to make us mad. Then Mr. Alves mid term was the second hardest because i did not have time to study because of training and i had got a 73, but i still have a 93 in the class. Then Spanish was the easiest because it was only food vocabulary and we had just learned it so it was fresh in my mind. Then I'm dreading 5th period algebra because i do not do good in math at all. I'm not good in it and its really hard for me. So thank you teachers for making us do these stupid mid terms!

The article, "Under Surveillance", is about how many employees of companies try to trick their bosses into not taking a long lunch break. The companies start to use a tracking device where you have to thumb print everytime you leave or enter the spot you are suppose to be in. The companies are chewing out all the workers who have tryed to trick them in the past. The article is mostly about how the thumb printing helps out knowing when the employees are there and what they are doing. What is good about the practice is that it helps the managers and bosses figure out what employers are trying to trick them and figure out how long they take for a lunch break and what they happen to be doing that they should not be. It's good because the thumb printing is an actual device to show when they actually show up, so that the employee cannot trick the boss. What is bad about the practice is that the employee has to be actual because now they cannot take a longer lunch break and say that they were back when they actually were not. The bad thing is also the fact that the person will not be cooropitive with the new technology and will rebel. The bad thing about it is that the employee does not know that they are getting caught and that makes them angry. If this was being done to me, I probably would not mind because it shows your loyalty and that you actually do take your job seriously. If you do not complain about it, it will show your boss that you are the best employee compared to the person who complains about it. If i were in charge, i would do the same thing. It shows and proves who is actually being loyal and who is taking the job seriously. If i were it would give me satisfaction of knowing that the employees are there when asked to be. In my opinion i think that the thumb tracking device is a good idea because it helps not only the company out but also the boss. In conclusion, the whole article is about how employees are not being honest about the time they go and come for lunch, so the boss makes the thumb in and out.

The school year is almost half way over, and still there are many things that have to get finished and completed. I have to catch up with my grades, because i need to get back with my straight A's. Before i can celebrate the school year being over, i have to make sure all my school work is done, and just for extra points, see if there is any extra credit i can possibly get, to top off my grades. All my Academy classes are important and i have to make sure that the grades i have now in the present can possibly get better in the near future. I also have athletic training to worry about. I have make sure that i can cover all the games that i am scheduled for. Each person gets assigned to 3 games a week, and possibly more if no one can work it. You have to worry about not only getting all your unfinished classwork, homework, and projects done with also having to worry about covering the games. The games usually go on until 9 or 10 which leaves me no time to rest or get anything done. I have to get back on getting used to the schedule and finishing my classwork in an acceptable period of time. The rest of the school year has a lot coming for me, but all i have to do is stay focused and i should be able to make it through.
