In the article, "Your SAT Scores May Haunt You", it talks about how Donna Chan, a 23 year old has been out of college since May 2002. She hadn't scored very high on her SAT's, but while being in college, her grade point average turned out to be a 3.9 which is very high for a college student. On her SAT's, she scored around the 1200's. She has not found a job out there yet, because of her SAT's, which is not fair because of the fact of her 3.9 GPA. It also talks about how some companies only hire people with score of 1400 on the SAT's. It talks about how the company "Configure soft, Inc", a systems-management software company is very unfair with their hiring. One company owner, Morgan Denny, does look at the SAT scores, but she says that "The SAT is an annoyance for us and an annoyance for our candidates; we believe there should be a balance." While this is very true, the SAT's are still very important.

These SAT tests are very important. They not only help you out if you are unable to pass the FCAT, but also if you want a decent paying job, sometimes it is necessary to do good. These tests make a critical impact on what your future holds for you. When taking these tests, many should remember that this is not only a test, but this test is your fate in a future job. While, wanting the job you"ve always wanted, you have to keep in mind that they may not hire you because of the SAT score, and so you want to score very high on the test. I believe that not letting students into certain colleges and jobs just because of a SAT score is very unfair. Yes, the SAT is a very important test that you want to do good on, but just because some may not be as well test takers as others, and people such as Donna Chan, have a very high GPA, the SAT should not stand in the way. For example, Donna Chan did poorly on her SAT but yet her GPA all throughout college was a 3.9, which happens to be very excellent. This is an unfair advantage to some.

Colleges take these into such consideration i believe, is because that they want their college to look the best. Allowing someone into the school with a low SAT score, may look bad on the schools record. Colleges want to look the best and want the best. Also, they do not want someone that would just fool around because if they do not have a high score, they may not be serious. Colleges also look at the students GPA averages. They make look at behavioral issues and grades all throughout schooling.

In my opinion, i believe that not allowing someone into a college or job just because of a low score on a test, is very unfair, so i do not think that not letting a student or adult in is not unfair. In my opinion this whole SAT ordeal is not an advantage to people, but an unadvantage. In conclusion, in this article, many talk about how they have high grades just not so well on the SAT.
