The article "Going to Bat" is about these two brothers who are Latin Americans that own a business to bring in more profit. It talks about how the two brothers used to play for major league baseball and they own businesses to bring in more profit for their company. It also talks about the two brothers' cousin who also got into the business with the brothers. The cousins' name is Augustin Perez who brings in a lot of profit for the brothers. A monthly pay he gives the brothers is $600, which covers the $10,000 investment and a share of the profits. The two brothers are named The Guerrero Brothers and they also own a business for seafood so that fishermen don't have to worry about catching all the seafood and it going to waste because it got spoiled. They also get money in from the tending to a farm and having workers work on the farm to earn even more profit so that they can be more rich than they already are.

What inspires the brothers to do what they are doing is to donate more things to their community other than baseball equipment to local charities. Mr. Guerrero has helped to put together a kind of economic development program for his hometown of 12,000. He and his brothers , who also played baseball professionally for U.S. teams, have launched a slew of business ventures that play a big role in reducing local poverty, including construction-supply stores. a propane distributorship, livestock and a vegetable farm. It is important for celebrities to give back to the community because it shows the community that people do care and it also gives the celebrity some good publicity. It shows that the celebrity is willing to give back. It could also benefit the community because when Augustin Perez asked for money from the brothers to buy a bus, that helped out the community because it gave them more transportation they already had before. The celebrity can be noticed as a helping hand and have people love that celebrity more than before because that celebrity is helping out to give back to the community.

The charity I would support if I were a celebrity is Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is the World's largest wish-granting organization. In 2007, they granted wishes to 13,006 children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions. Since its beginning in 1980, this organization has granted more than 165,000 wishes. From an afternoon spent as a police officer or fire fighter to a visit to Disney World, the 25,000 volunteers who are a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation give ill children their greatest wishes. President David Williams started the Make-A-Foundation for children who are in food for a last wish. The company started this Make-A-Wish Foundation for children to give them a wish because they are very ill and the parents can only give them this one last thing before they pass away. The children benefit from this because they get to make any wish they want and Make-A-Wish Foundation will grant it. I chose this charity because one of my friends that I have known since I was a baby has a tumor in her brain and she used this company to make her last and final wish. Overall, this article was about doing charities for communities and to just help out other people in need. In conclusion, the article showed many caring sides for people in need and showed that people need to get involved more with charities.
